West Tennessee Blitz

REGION 6-1A

Collinwood (2-4, 0-1) at McKenzie (4-2, 1-0)

Previous result: 2025 - McKenzie 55, Collinwood 6

Players to watch: McKenzie RB Jayden Callis

What to know: The Rebels typically dominate when they get into region play, but that could change if they overlook anyone too much.

REGION 7-1A

Greenfield (4-2, 1-1) at Humboldt (6-0, 3-0)

Previous result: 2025 - Greenfield 50, Humboldt 48

Players to watch: Greenfield WR Jerrick McMullen; McKenzie LB Dawson Reeder

What to know: Considering both of these schools are probably more widely regarded for their basketball teams, last year’s score might be what most would expect. And the same could happen again this year as both teams are scoring a lot of points when they’re having their better games. This one may come down to the first team that can make a stop.

Lake Co. (3-2, 1-0) at West Carroll (0-6, 0-3)

Previous result: 2025 - Lake Co. 43, West Carroll 6

Players to watch: Lake Co. RB Randy Demo; West Carroll LB Caleb Martin

What to know: West Carroll could have a depth advantage here that they could possibly exploit if this one is close late in the game. The Falcons have the motivation of trying to stay in the hunt for the Region 7-1A championship and will try to avoid that scenario where it’s close at the end of the game.

South Fulton (4-1, 1-1) at Gleason (0-6, 0-2)

Previous result: 2025 South Fulton 35, Gleason 0

Players to watch: South Fulton OL Gavin Dickson; Gleason CB Jack Muzzall

What to know: The Red Devils could be tempted to look ahead of the winless Bulldogs, and Gleason is fighting for its first victory.

REGION 8-1A

Middle College (3-2, 1-0) at Middleton (0-6, 0-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Middle College 49, Middleton 0

Players to watch: Middleton LB Brandon Lynn

What to know: Both of these teams have nothing but region games the rest of the way, so the Tigers could possibly become more competitive since their competition is coming more now from schools closer to their size.

REGION 5-2A

Mt. Pleasant (3-3, 1-2) at Adamsville (5-1, 2-0)

Previous result: 2025 - Mt. Pleasant 28, Adamsville 0

Players to watch: Adamsville RB Jackson Johnson

What to know: The Cardinals were shut out last year on the road in this matchup, but they’re playing to stay at the top of the region standings, while Mt. Pleasant hasn’t had as good a season so far as it enjoyed last year. Johnson could have a big game with a lot of production in the ground game in this one.

Scotts Hill (0-6, 0-3) at Lewis Co. (1-5, 1-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Lewis Co. 41, Scotts Hill 8

Players to watch: Scotts Hill LB Koleton Clark

What to know: While the Lions have typically scored at least once in most games, their bigger issue appears to be defense and getting stops as their opponents typically score at least 30 points.

REGION 7-2A

Union City (3-3, 2-0) at Milan (4-2, 2-1)

Previous result: 2025 - Milan 35, Union City 13

Players to watch: Union City QB Kennedy Taylor; Milan WR Jay Donaldson

What to know: Two of West Tennessee football’s premier programs playing to see which one has a shot at the top two spots in the region. Milan needs this win if they want to finish top two, but Union City still has a shot at the championship. So both teams have the motivation to win, but it could be determined by which team establishes their ground game first or better.

JCM (3-3, 1-2) at Gibson Co. (1-5, 0-3)

Previous score: 2025 - JCM 41, Gibson Co. 0

Players to watch: JCM WR Alex Small-Jones; Gibson Co. DL Noah Cash

What to know: The Cougars and Pioneers have both played through the defending state champion and a state semifinalist from last year in the last two weeks without leaving region play. They both went 0-2, so they both need a win here to stay eligible for the playoffs and possibly in contention for even more. The Pioneers have had issues competing in most of their games because of a lack of depth.

Peabody (3-3, 1-2) at Halls (2-4, 0-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Peabody 42, Halls 13

Players to watch: Peabody LB Michael Dunlap; Halls LB Sawyer Tetleton

What to know: Both of these teams’ seasons so far have been up-and-down, so they will both need to bring their best game if they want to continue to compete for a playoff spot.

REGION 8-3A

Camden (1-5, 1-1) at Sycamore (1-5, 1-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Camden 35, Sycamore 21

Players to watch: Camden WR Isaiah Goodwin

What to know: Sycamore lost by 70 points last week, so defensively they appear to be vulnerable. If the Lions can move the ball consistently, they stand a good chance of ruining Sycamore’s homecoming.

REGION 7-3A

Westview (6-0, 2-0) at Ripley (1-5, 0-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Westview 62, Ripley 6

Players to watch: Westview WR Ja’Kye Beard; Ripley WR Messyah Stewart

What to know: The Tigers are having to hit the road again for another unscheduled away game until their new stadium is complete.

Bolivar (2-4, 2-1) at Covington (5-1, 2-0)

Previous result: 2025 - Covington 62, Bolivar 7

Players to watch: Bolivar WR Zeryon Jones; Covington OL Steven Cunningham

What to know: Bolivar’s defense specialize in stopping the run, and considering how well they played Dyersburg and Covington’s smaller size this year, the Tigers could be more of a challenge than most people realize going into this one.

McNairy (3-3, 0-3) at Obion Co. (3-3, 0-3)

Previous result: 2025 - Obion Co. 50, McNairy 7

Players to watch: McNairy LB Damari Stafford; Obion Co. LB Andre Miller

What to know: These two teams’ seasons have mirrored each other with a perfect non-region record followed by three straight losses in region play. The difference is all of Obion’s losses have come to the big three, while McNairy lost a heartbreaker last week in the final few seconds. So the Bobcats need this win more in region standings.

REGION 7-4A

Lexington (6-0, 4-0) at South Gibson (3-3, 2-1)

Previous result: 2025 - South Gibson 27, Lexington 20

Players to watch: Lexington RB Levi Wilkinson; South Gibson RB Tyshaun Jeter

What to know: Jeter’s return to the lineup last week after being injured in Week 1 gave the Hornets a viable option in the ground game they’ve needed all year. As well as the Hornets’ defense has played recently, this could be an interesting matchup with Lexington’s high octane offense.

Hardin Co. (3-3, 2-1) at North Side (3-2, 2-2)

Previous score: 2025 - North Side 42, Hardin Co. 21

Players to watch: Hardin Co. WR Gavin Cromwell; North Side K Alex Gomez

What to know: Both of these teams are well within the race for at least the playoffs in the region, and they both need a win here if they want to compete for a top-two finish. The key for Hardin County is to keep the North Side offense off the field by utilizing their rushing offense and keep the chains moving. North Side needs explosive plays to get first downs on offense and the big plays on defense that force turnovers or the offense into negative situations.

Chester Co. (3-3, 1-2) at Dyer Co. (2-4, 0-4)

Previous result: 2025 - Dyer Co. 42, Chester Co. 10

Players to watch: Chester Co. LB Ethan Talley; Dyer Co. RB Bryce Fulton

What to know: The Choctaws are trying to break a four-game losing streak, while the Eagles are trying to remain in the playoff race. If Dyer County were to win this game and Chester were to lose, that could be enough to get the Choctaws into the playoff conversation again depending on how other teams do.

REGION 8-4A

Millington (0-5, 0-2) at Haywood (4-2, 3-0)

Previous result: 2025 - Haywood 44, Millington 0

Players to watch: Haywood LB Jamarion Barbee

What to know: The Tomcats should be able to run at will in this one.

REGION 7-5A

Clarksville NE (2-4, 0-1) at Henry Co. (2-4, 1-0)

Previous result: 2025 - Henry Co. 41, Clarksville NE 8

Players to watch: Henry Co. lineman Maleque Jackson

What to know: The Patriots have survived their non-region schedule, and this game will be an indication of how much it’s tested them and made them stronger for the region games that count toward the playoffs.

REGION 8-5A

Kingsbury (2-4, 0-1) at Munford (4-1, 0-0)

Previous result: 2025 - Munford 57, Kingsbury 0

Players to watch: Munford RB Jean Smith

What to know: The Cougars don’t have many players among the area’s stat leaders because so many different guys contributed on both sides of the ball.

DIVISION II-A WEST

JCS (6-0, 2-0) at TCA (4-1, 2-1)

Previous score: 2025 - TCA 31, JCS 28

Players to watch: JCS DB Hudson Little; TCA QB Greg Carter

What to know: This game as of The Post’s press time is the only local game that’s been moved to Thursday for weather purposes. Check The Post on Facebook and online for updates on other games. This game has come down to the wire the last few years with it determining the region champion a couple of times and at least determining region runner-up and a home playoff game. The Eagles have been challenged a couple of times in the fourth quarter and passed those tests with a balanced offense and stingy defense. TCA doesn’t have the depth it would like, and that was a factor in the Lions’ one loss. But the offense is moving well after a few personnel changes, but this will be the biggest test since those changes have been made.

Tipton-Rosemark (1-5, 1-2) at Fayette Aca. (2-4, 0-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Tipton-Rosemark 49, Fayette Aca. 13

Players to watch: Fayette Aca. LB Carter Sheridan

What to know: The Vikings are a different team than the one the Rebels had the clock running on last year. But is that enough to come away from this one with a win?

NON-REGION

Bruceton (4-2) at Liberty (5-0)

Previous score: 2025 - Bruceton 39, Liberty 24

Players to watch: Bruceton LB Carter Lowe; Liberty RB Kylan Cole

What to know: This is arguably Liberty’s toughest test so far. The Tigers have a strong ground game, but their passing offense is good enough to keep defenses honest before the snap. They’ll try to limit Liberty’s athleticism and speed when the Crusaders have the ball, and despite a depth disadvantage, the Tigers have more experience across the board playing football in general, and that could be the difference in this one.

McEwen (3-2) at Dresden (3-3)

Previous result: 2025 - Dresden 14, McEwen 0

Players to watch: Dresden LB Carson Ledzema

What to know: Ledzema is the area’s leader in defensive takeaways, which means he’s all over the field getting to the ball. The Lions will need that kind of play and more to win this matchup again.

Huntingdon (6-0) at Riverside (4-2) (Thursday)

Previous result: 2025 - Huntingdon 49, Riverside 0

Players to watch: Huntingdon QB Kenton Smith; Riverside OL J.P. Gray

What to know: These teams continue to meet to test each other late in the season before they hit the postseason. Riverside is noticeably healthier this year than a year ago when Huntingdon dominated. The Panthers have challenged bigger teams this year and pushed them to the brink, and that could happen again in this one.

Crockett Co. (5-1) at Dyersburg (4-2)

Previous result: 2025 - Crockett Co. 42, Dyersburg 28

Players to watch: Crockett Co. LB Brody Jones; Dyersburg DB Santavion Williams

What to know: Just like with Huntingdon and Riverside, these two are no longer in the same region but continue to test each other in a late non-region game. The Cavaliers have been on a mission in the past month since they took their loss, and Dyersburg has played well in its last four games. With the ground game being as important as it is to both teams, line play will be a definitive factor in deciding this one.

Oakhaven (2-3) at Fayette-Ware (1-4)

Previous result: 2025 - Fayette-Ware 31, Oakhaven 16

Players to watch: Fayette-Ware WR Deangelo Kee

What to know: The Wildcats have dropped a couple they probably should’ve won, so they need to pick up a win here to maybe get momentum going.

McCracken Co. (Kent.) (4-2) at Brighton (3-3)

Previous result: First meeting

Players to watch: Brighton LB Cylon Jackson

What to know: The Cardinals traded a perennial power from Memphis (Whitehaven) for a perennial power from Kentucky. They will need to produce on the ground and in the air offensively to keep McCracken honest before the snap and make them guess every time they snap the ball.

Marshall Co. (2-4) at USJ (5-1)

Previous score: First meeting

Players to watch: USJ WR Luke Brown

What to know: The Bruins didn’t play Marshall County last year because they had Memphis East on the schedule. When East didn’t provide the challenge head coach Derrick Pritchard wanted in the regular season, he was able to get out of that game and get Marshall County. Don’t be fooled by Marshall County’s record. The four teams that have beaten them have a combined two losses, and both of those losses came last week against teams from bigger classifications. Both programs wanted to be tested because both teams are expecting to make their way deep into the playoffs in November.
