Quick hits
Head coach Bart Stowe has been a head coach for the past 25 seasons including eight seasons at Haywood before getting to Dyersburg in 2009. Only once in that time has Stowe’s team not made the playoffs. Out of those 24 playoff teams, 17 have made it past the first round.
The Trojans have four non-region games, and three of those opponents are from bigger classifications. All four of them made the playoffs, and two of them won a playoff game last year.
Dyersburg has its open week in Week 8, and they will have that week to rest up and heal after playing Crockett County. The next two games after that open week are Covington - who eliminated Dyersburg last year in the state quarterfinals - followed by Westview, who won the region and eliminated Covington in the semifinals en route to a state championship.
Stowe has nine assistant coaches listed on this page, and nearly every one of them played at Dyersburg and played for him at Dyersburg.
The Trojans have spent the entire offseason focused on themselves and not any other team in the region as they want to be the best version of themselves when those tough games do come up on the schedule.
Position groups
Offensive line — Will Rogers is back to play center along with the guards on both sides of him - Travin Robertson and Rob Pierce. They will be big in bringing leadership and stability up front.
Backfield — Quincy Terry will be the running back. Logston Morgan will be the quarterback with experience in leading the offense.
Receivers — Ty Seaton is back after recording several receptions and touchdowns last year. He’ll be the main target in certain situations.
Defensive line — This group has good numbers but not a lot of returning experience. Stowe said he likes to see how hard the guys are working and is looking forward to seeing what they do when games start for real.
Linebackers — J.P. Noblin is the main returner in this group and will be looked to for leadership. The rest of the group is following his lead so far.
Secondary — Quincy Terry is a returning starter for this group, and Santavion Williams brings a high amount of experience with him as they will be called upon to try to cap some productive passing offenses on their schedule.
Special teams — Jackson Dugan is a junior who will be kicking and punting. Both long snappers are back too.
